키칠라노 비치는 밴쿠버 다운타운 서편에 자리잡은 시원하고 툭 트인 해변공원이다. 이 지역을 키칠라노 지역이라고 하는데 이곳에 캐나다와 밴쿠버 지역의 지나온 자취를 한 눈에 불 수 있는 역사적인 박물관 두 개가 있다. 하나는 해양박물관이고 또 하나는 밴쿠버박물관이다. 이 도시의 중심이라고 할 수 있는 이 박물관은 이제 현대감각에 맞는 스페이스 센터와 함께 그 모습을 해변로에 드러내고 있다. 계절마다 월별로 프로그램이 진행되고 있으며 어린이들을 위한 생생한 교육세미나도 준비되어 있다. 원주민들의 걸작부터 캐나다인들의 정착사까지 온갖 인간의 손떼가 묻은 작품과 자료들이 즐비하게 앉아 숨쉬고 있다. 오천년의 역사를 자랑하는 동서양의 국가들에 비해서는 150년이라는 짧은 역사를 가지만 캐나다는 그래서인지 더욱 역사적인 보물들을 가치있게 다루고 있으며 해리티지에 대한 소중한 마음은 이해할 수 없을 정도로 정성스럽다. 분수대에 어리는 입구에서 시원스럽게 펼쳐진 매표소 앞에서 좌측으로 스페이스센터가 보이고 우측으로는 밴쿠버박물관이 보인다. 이 건물속에 보물들이 광채를 발하고 부끄러운 듯 소박한 미소를 지으며 우리를 기다리고 있다. 그 세월의 흔적이 어리는 이들을 언제 와서 구경하실 것인가.

A cool and tidy beach park on the west side of downtown Vancouver is Kichilano Beach. This area is called the Kichilano area. Here are two historic museums where you can see the traces of Canada and Vancouver. It is Vancouver Maritime Museum and Museum of Vancouver. The museum has become the center of the city, and the space center for modern sense is also located in a building. The program is being held monthly and there are various seminars on education for children every season. From the footsteps of Aboriginal people to the settlement of Canadians, the works and materials of all kinds of human hands are kept. Canada has a short history of 150 years compared to countries that have thousands of years of history. So the Canadians value more historic treasures and have a precious mind about heritage. Once you have entered the cool entrance of the modern water fountain, you will see the Space Center on your left and the Vancouver Museum on your right.
