록키산맥으로 가는 5번 하이웨이에서 캠룹스를 지나 한 두 시간 가면 왼쪽으로 크리어워터 도시가 나온다. 이 도시에 못 미쳐 서쪽으로 아름다운 더치호수가 있다. 클리어 워터는 폭포로 유명한데 이 입구에서 더치호수는 평화로운 감동을 주고 있다. 여름철이면 그 노을빛이 물빛에 분홍빛으로 번지고 수풀 사이로 고개를 든 작은 마을은 마치 세상을 잃어버린 듯 고요하고 황홀한 자태를 은은히 보여준다. 누가 사는 것을까. 이곳에 사는 사람들은 법 없이도 살 것 같다. 하늘과 호수가 청분홍으로 채색되는 시간에 고요히 작은 갑판을 걸으면 지난 날에 아픔이 그저 녹아버린다. Dutch Lake Motel & RV Campground에서 하루 숙박을 했다. 호수와 연결된 이곳은 숲과 어울린 아담한 휴식처다. 그 뒷마당에 젖어 있는 호수변의 풍경에는 이미 여행자들의 실루엣이 칠해져 있다. 록키산으로 가는 중에 이곳에 한 번 들러서 하룻밤을 지내면 맑고 신선한 영혼으로 자스퍼(록키산 북쪽마을)에 이를 수가 있다.

After about two hours past Kamloops, the city of Clearwater emerges. And there is Dutch Lake on the west of Cree Water. If Clearwater is famous for waterfalls, Dutch Lake is rather peaceful and calm.In summer, the pink glow is spread over the water. The small village, which is covered with forest, shows a calm and enchanting figure as if dreaming. Who lives here? People living here seem to live without law. When the sky and the lake are painted in pink, if you walk on a small deck, the pain of the last day just melts away. We stayed overnight at Dutch Lake Motel & RV Campground. This motel, linked to the lake, is a small retreat that goes well with the forest. The backyard scenery is already painted with a relaxing silhouette of travelers. If you stay here for a night while you are on your way to Rocky Mountain, you can reach Jasper (north of Rocky Mountain) with a fresh soul.
