밴쿠버 홀슈베이에서 20분 정도 99번 고속도로 북쪽으로 달리면 왼쪽 해변가에 아름다운 포튜 코브 국립공원이 그 자태를 드러내고 있다. 공원 캠프장 끝자락에서 작은 야산을 오르면 호수처럼 고요한 태평양 바다가 청록빛으로 숨쉬고 있다. 이곳은 특히 캠프촌이 유명한 데 주말이면 예약하기가 힘들 정도로 많은 사람들이 즐기는 곳이다. 기차 기적소리와 철로, 뗏목이 누워 있는 하얀 모래사장, 늘씬한 초록의 나무와 숲, 사시사철 빙하처럼 흰 운봉들, 거울처럼 고요한 하워사운드 바다 그리고 뱀처럼 구불거리며 자동차를 밀고 있는 99번 하이웨이가 포튜코브를 채색하고 있다. 이곳에서 캠프를 해 보지 않은 사람은 진정 이 해변가에서 누리는 천국의 맛을 경험하지 못한다. 도시 가까운 곳에 있기에 이곳은 분주한 일상으로 지친 영혼들을 끝없이 치유하고 있다. 진정 안식의 마을이다.

Take the highway 99 north from Horseshoe Bay in about 20 minutes and you will see the beautiful Porteau Cove Provincial Park on the left bank. At the end of the campsite, climb a small hill and the calm Pacific Ocean is breathing blue silvery. Famous for its camping sites, it is hard to book on weekends. There are a number of scenic spots in the area, including the miraculous sounds and railroads, the white sandy beach with its giant trees, the tall green forests, the snowy mountains, the serene Hower Sound waters like a mirror and the serpentine Highway 99. If you camp here, you will truly experience the taste of heaven. Because it is close to the city, Tired people here will be endlessly healed. It is truly a town of peace.
